Felixville  Rat Terriers is a small breeding kennel run by Theda Little and her daughter in law, Joanna Little, located in south Louisiana. Theda has owned Rat Terriers since 1993 and has shown in UKC and AKC events since 2010.

Felixville bred its first litter in 2013 and has since produced numerous AKC champions, grand champions, group placing dogs, as well as many dogs with performance titles in events such as agility, rally obedience, lure coursing ability and barn hunt.  While producing top conformation and performance dogs with appropriate prey drive is a top priority, it is most important to us that we produce beloved pets who greatly enrich the lives of their families!

Our objective is to produce conformationally correct, sound dogs with great temperaments and strong prey drive, all while maintaining strong breed type. This is always a work in progress, and we strive to improve upon each generation with the next.  Our current breeding dogs are all fully health tested  (patellas, cardiac, hips, and legg-calve-perthes), and are tested for PLL and PRA-PRCD if not cleared by parentage to ensure no affected puppies are produced.  

 

Our puppies are lovingly raised in our home where they receive lots of attention and human interaction.  During their time with us they are exposed to a variety of new people, animals, and situations.  We incorporate elements of the Puppy Culture program to help ensure that our puppies are adaptable, well rounded individuals!  Our puppies are vet checked, microchipped, and given their first vaccinations prior to leaving at about 10 weeks of age.
